There’s a Kickstarter page where you can actually buy solar powered headphones. You won’t have to bring a backpack with a solar charging unit. Exod’s Helios Headphones have integrated solar charging batteries (located at the top face or headband). According to Exod, charging the unit for 2 hours will get you one hour of playback time. Charge the unit for 24 hours and you’ll get 12 hours of continuous play.
If the sun doesn’t want to come out and play, well, you can still charge the earphones via its AC/DC adapter.
You can order the Helios from Exod’s Kickstarter page and that’s the rub. It’s still a kickstarter but according to Exod, it will be available to us this January.
So if you want to listen to music and still save the world (or at least save electricity), then get the Exos Solar Powered headphones.
