We love kickstarter projects and we’re hoping that this particular technology sees the light of day and goes commercial!

YOLK has reported that it will showcase Solar Paper, an eco-friendly, ultra-thin solar panel, on Kickstarter today.

Solar Paper is a product that is designed to accumulate electricity via a solar panel. It then provides it to various devices, including smartphones.

YOLK’s super-efficient solar panel production technology is applied to the product. It produces 5W, which is the highest power output when compared to similar products on the market. The product consists of two solar panels, and each panel can produce 2.5W.

Solar Paper’s volume is 9cm x 17cm x 1.5cm, and it weighs 60g, which makes it highly portable.

When it is sunny, it can charge an iPhone 6 in about 2.5 hours. When it is cloudy, it takes 3 hours to fully charge the battery. This proves Solar Paper’s high performance, as it possesses the same charging speed as regular wall chargers. Also, the magnet inside allows it to be attached to metal surfaces, and it is highly durable with waterproof functions.

Furthermore, it does not need separate cables and extra parts, for it has built-in ports for Android phones and iPhones.

Solar Paper is equipped with the following features:

– Auto reset function: When shadows are cast on the solar panels and disappear, Solar Paper is automatically reset. This is highly convenient because the users do not have to re-plug the device all of the time.

– Built-in magnet: A magnet is attached to each solar panel, and a maximum four panels can be connected (total power output of 10W).

– LCD screen: It displays in real time the amount of power that Solar Paper generates.
