Who said you can’t marry technology with art? Well, we didn’t.

Samsung Electronics Philippines and the Yuchengco Museum launched Bencab in Two Movements, an interactive exhibit on National Artist, BenCab.

If you’re Filipino and you don’t know BenCab, then shame on you.

For the last 50 years, BenCab has built a monument to Philippine contemporary art and has inspired thousands of artists through his paintings and fine art prints.

The exhibition highlights BenCab’s handpicked works he created to capture the dance movements of London-based Chinese dancer San Lee, and Polish dancer and choreographer Paulina Wycichowska.

But instead of just browsing through all of national artist’s works,  attendees can use a Samsung Tablet with a specially designed application.  Instead of blaring out what the art piece is all about, you can read about it on the Samsung Tablet.  Attendees can also opt to just listen to the presentation by donning a pair of wireless or wired earphones.

There’s also an interactive exhibit where museum goers can tap on tablets showing BenCab’s artwork. Touch it and it’ll go through the artists other painted renderings.

They can also try out an interactive dance app where you get to use San Lee’s painted likeness and pull of some dance moves.

The exhibit’s use of Samsung’s  customized Smart SUHD and UHD TVs and mobile apps  is inspired and will definitely appeal to the generation that are not familiar with BenCab’s work.

Alongside the exhibit, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 BenCab Limited Edition, as a means of underscoring the seamless convergence of art and technology. It comes with a specially designed box, an art booklet and an customized hard case.

The BenCab in Two Movements Exhibit will run beginning October 1 at the Yuchengo Museum in Makati City.

You owe it to yourselves to visit this exhibit.
