E3 or the Electronic Entertainment Exposition 2015 is one of the most anticipated gaming events.

This is the event where they reveal the biggest upcoming games and gaming tech updates. E3 is winding down already but we’ve got some great stuff.

Here are some of the best highlights of E3 2015 (for us that is).
Mass Effect: Andromeda

The Mass Effect Trilogy, the game series that defined Sci-Fi RPG ended in 2012 when they released the last Mass Effect game.

Mass Effect is the story of Commander Shepherd, the first human SPECTRE. Together with other advanced races from the known galaxy, he saved everyone from a galactic scourge.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is a whole new game and it happens long after the events of the original trilogy. This time, you’ll be exploring Andromeda, a whole new galaxy. Check out the video below.

We’re excited about it because we played the ME Trilogy (editor’s note: Sid played them). Including the DLCs. So we’re mighty stoked about this one.

The next game that we’re excited about is Doom. It’s the first person shooter that started the shooter revolution. I remember playing Doom in my college dorm back then and it was glorious. Bethesda and id Software (the original Doom developer) is remaking it in glorious high definition. Blasting away and sawing mutated freaks just got more awesome. Words don’t do justice to blood-spattering-dismemberment and carnage you’ll inflict on enemies. Check out the video below.

Another shooter that we’re excited about is Halo 5: Guardians. The Master Chief still pretty much figures in the game but there are new character as well.

Buck from Halo: ODST and Locke from the Halo: Nightfall TV series and a few other Spartans are hunting the greatest of them all.

I’ve played (editor’s note: again, Sid went through all Halo games) the Halo Games and this new chapter has me frothing in the mouth.

This new game will tell us what happened why the Master Chief went AWOL and what is the connection between him and this Locke dude.

Here is Halo 5.

Microsoft Hololens just got more awesome. We featured the Hololens a month back and it looks awesome.

With the Hololens headset, you can play, watch and work with holographic displays everywhere. The one that they demoed at E3 was  Minecraft and it looks awesome. One of their guys brought his Hololens-enabled Minecraft world onto a table and he was able to play with it. Here’s the video.

Now if the Hololens can make world building games this much fun, I’m sold already.

Imagine if you could do this in god games. Hours and hours of fun and just using a table and the Microsoft Hololens.

But the best gaming development that we got from E3?  The Xbox One will get backwards compatibility. That means that a majority of the games that you purchased for your Xbox 360, including the downloaded games can be played on the Xbox One.   Yes, you can play your Xbox 360 discs on the Xbox One and that includes games you downloaded. And you don’t even have to pay for these downloaded games.  It’l be available in your gaming library if you’re an Xbox Live Gold member.  You only need to download the games again.  The Xbox One backwards compatibility will be available at the end of the year. Wow.
