Virtual Reality Headsets have been around since the 1990s (or probably earlier). But it wasn’t the best. Graphics weren’t that good and the immersive experience was too limited. Today it’s different. The Oculus made it cool again and other VR headset makers are making truly immersive applications and games. Sony has  joined the bandwagon big time with their Project Morpheus. Launched last year as a prototype, Project Morpheus is shaping up to be one of the best looking VR headsets out there. Underneath the cool exteriors lie an impressive list of features:

  • A 5.7 inch 1920 x RGB x 1080 resolution OLED display
  • 120Hz refresh rate that can display up to 120 frames per second(fps)
  • More accurate tracking with the integration of more LEDs that help track user movements.

The Sony VR headset is supposed to be lighter, more comfortable to use and easier to remove.

Sony says that the VR system will be released during the first half of 2016 so keep your fingers crossed and hopefully it makes its way here to this side of the Pacific.
