Here’s something you don’t see every day. We’ve featured a number of cooking appliances but this one takes the cake. Panasonic launched what is perhaps the world’s first Countertop Induction Oven (CIO). The Panasonic CIO combines proprietary induction and double-infrared heating technologies for healthy cooking options in minutes.

So what does it do? Well, pretty much everything that a oven will do. It can grill, bake, toast, re-heat food. According to Panasonic, it requires little or no preheating and that could mean well cooked meals. It has pre-set menu options so you won’t have to figure out what temperate or how long to cook certain dishes.

It’ll literally take the guesswork out of grilling steaks, cooking chicken, vegetables  and more.  But if you’re like us (obsessive compulsive),  the CIO still has adjustable temperature control.

The CIO combines direct induction heat and a sealed, compact interior. It has a  dishwasher-safe grill as well.

The Pansonic CIO will be available in October 2016.
