We featured Elechive products years ago, and they’re at it again. After giving the world their first super portable air conditioner, they came up with the ElecHive 2200 portable & universal power generator.
This Indiegogo project features the latest battery pack technology that promises to provide 2,200W of power output. That’s like a standard power outlet. It has a 2,400Wh capacity that can power up devices and appliances for hours.
But it doesn’t weigh a ton to pack in that kind of power. It’s only 34 pounds and is as small as a basketball.
What sets different from other power generators? For starters, it uses an integrated Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2) — NMC battery pack allowing it to be smaller and lighter.
NMC(LiNiMnCoO2) batteries power electric vehicles like the Tesla Model 3, BMW i8, Audi e-Tron GE, and more. The batteries have low-temperature resistance, high energy density, high cycle efficiency & stable chemistry.
Instead of joining 300 individual 18650 batteries together like a traditional power station, the ElecHive 2200 only has six batteries and connections between them. The manufacturers said that this system dramatically reduces the risk of potential accidents to occur.
So how much can it power?
With its 2400Wh capacity & 2200W AC Output, the ElecHive can operate several heavy-duty outdoor appliances and tools (up to 2200W). Aside from laptops, lights, TVs, and projectors, it can run larger load devices such as saws, hairdryers, and even an electric car with ease.
You can charge the ElecHive through solar panels, a power outlet, or even a car charger. It only takes about 3 hours to recharge 2400Wh of ElecHive to full with three charging inputs combined.
