We got to witness one of the biggest Philippine partnerships for video on demand services yesterday.

PLDT Home and Smart Communications, the leading multimedia networks in the country,  partnered with iflix, Southeast Asia’s biggest on-demand video service provider to deliver entertainment everywhere.  You can now watch movies and TV series from all around the world anywhere and from any device.

Families and individuals can now enjoy more than more than 11,000 hours of TV and movie entertainment. Stream Big Bang Theory, Glee, Friends, Hollywood box office movies, and other great Asian movies and TV programs.

In-home entertainment is going to be huge in Asia and it’s time that we got more awesome streaming video services here.

The launch was star studded. Aside from local celebrities, they invited Heather Morris, one of the leads in the Glee TV series to grace the event.

And the piece de resistance? Four walls of the huge ball room covered with projected clips of movies, TV series, live action and animation. It was awesome to behold.

Once the trial period is over, you can continue streaming movies and TV series for only P129 a month. If you’re a PLDT Home or Smart and Sun Broadband subscriber, you can get it for only P99 a month

PLDT Fibr Plan customers can enjoy iflix for free as part of their subscription. PLDT HOME customers who will upgrade to a TVolution or Telpad plan, will have unlimited access to iflix at no extra cost.

As for Smart subscirbers, they can access iflix on the go for only P99. It works for pre-paid and postpaid accounts.

I just signed up for the service and I’m pretty impressed with it (I didn’t find Man on Fire though).  This is a great development for local in-home entertainment.
